Title: Grave Matters: Act I - Solving Graveyard Mysteries through Old Maps; Act II – Visiting the Cartographers & Explorers Buried at Congressional Cemetery

Speaker:  Patrick Crowley, Capitol Hill resident and former Board of Director Member, Congressional Cemetery

Summary: Meeting will be in two parts: first, a presentation of old maps used by Mr. Crowley to find solutions to mysteries about the grounds and, second, a tour of cartographers and explorers buried at Congressional Cemetery.

Logistics: Meeting will be held in the Chapel in the center of the cemetery at 3:00 PM May 25, 2024. Chapel can hold up to 100. Total length of walking tour is approximately 5 blocks.

Metro accessible by either Potomac Avenue Metro (walk east 4 blocks) or Stadium Armory Metro (recommended; walk south 4 blocks)

Street parking is readily available on Potomac Ave. and E St. alongside the cemetery. No driving inside the grounds.

Congressional Cemetery has an active dog-walking program.  All dogs and walkers are friendly; walkers are respectful of visitors; dogs may be curious about visitors.
